Serving adults with Down syndrome in the pursuit of an authentically meaningful life.

Welcome to Dash and Scout

We are a special needs collective for adults with Down syndrome seeking a meaningful, more independent path. The Dash and Scout concept is unique to Virginia and boasts a series of hands-on programs designed to increase the independence of adults with Down syndrome.

The Pillars: Our Programs

    Dash + Discovery

Focusing on family consults to evaluate the participants current level of independence, daily schedule, interests, and community involvement. Each family will be a partner in ensuring there is a strong focus on individual goals and progress tracking.

    Scout

This program takes the information learned in the Dash and Discovery phase and creates a “Life Recipe” using community supports and programs to create purposeful opportunity for continuing education and independence.

    Dave's Place

A home that can accommodate 4-5 adults overnight, or 6-8 for day programs to practice living independently in a home. These hands-on experiences will build skills and self-confidence to support goals to move towards independence.
